Request a Welcome Furoshiki Visit |
|||
How is Welcome Furoshiki Organized and Funded? Welcome Furoshiki visits are done by volunteers who live all over the Kanto and Kansai areas. They are people who enjoy Japan and are enthusiastic about living in Japan. Each Representative has experienced being an expatriate, so she/he understands what it is like to start life in Japan. There are at any given time, about 10-12 Representatives in the Kanto and Kansai areas and there are several directors. Two directors are responsible for the Representatives (one in Kansai and one in Kanto) and assuring visits are made. The other two directors are responsible for getting corporate support for Welcome Furoshiki in Kansai and Kanto. The funds from sponsors are used for advertising so new foreign residents will learn about Welcome Furoshiki, for buying the Furoshiki cloth, copying, transportation, and a small token of appreciation for Representatives for each visit. The entire budget is available to current sponsors to assure the status of Welcome Furoshiki as a non-profit effort. Current Directors
